This is the main collection of Jazz LPs, which has been accumulated over several decades and which has only been united in the same place in the last two years. The collection comprises about 25 000 LPs. They are stocked on five-story shelves, which are about 35 meters long. For space reasons it was not possible to stock them together with the two other Jazz LP collections. The collection covers recordings from the beginnings of jazz until the years 1960-1970. Largest possible representation was more important for us than completeness with respect to labels and performers. All discs are placed in alphabetical order and moreover they all have a sticker from the museum and are numbered consecutively starting with n°1. Almost all discs are in excellent condition and often have never been played. It's the same with the covers, few of them had to be changed. Furthermore the discs have been provided with a white inside protection sleeve. Regarding the samplers, the cover and the verso have been scanned in order to enable an overview of the content. All scanned discs are available in 13 picture book volumes. | ![]() |
