It's Radio Time

Kansas City Five, Cobb's Paramount Syncopators, Mutt Carey, Russell Smith, Bunny Berigan
Mary Lou Williams, Hershal Evans, Claude Hopkins, Maggie Jones, Louis Metcalf

This is a project with a considerable potential for the museum and we attach a lot of hope to it.

Mr. Hazen Schumacher from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan in the United States has left to us about 1550 tapes of his legendary radio weekly broadcast « Jazz Revisited » a long time ago.

This radio show was on air for 30 years until 1997 on a large number of American radio stations and was one of the 10 most popular radio shows.

These radio shows have been recorded on analog tape and have to be converted to digital format and copied on CDs.

The planning, the preparation and the work on this project have begun. We intend to make these radio shows on CD accessible to the public within the frame of the museum's activities.
